Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. Aluminum is ideally suited to anodizing, although other nonferrous metals, such as magnesium and titanium, also can be anodized.

Anodising is a relatively cheap end processĀ and we have access to several anodising lines, both in Shanghai and in Jiangsu province. We usually anodise to neutral, grey, gold or black colours.

Chrome Plating

One of our core competencies is decorative chrome plating, which is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a base metal. We currently plate onto a fabricated aluminum alloy and a die-cast zinc alloy. These use different plating methods.

We visually inspect EVERY PART that comes off the line to ensure the highest of standards. Our main program has enabled one customer to dominate their niche market and has enabled the same program to remain at the same vendor for over 8 years. We CASS test every day to ensure our parts will meet the warranty period of our customers.

Having our own polishing stations in-house really helps us to retain high yields at the chrome plating line.

When a high quality finish is required, be it on a plated, anodised or even powder coated part, you need to have good polishing capabilities. We are very proud of what we can achieve making that substrate surface as smooth as possible to decrease our scrap rate post-finishing.

Our in-house capabilities include wheel polishing (sand, grit, hemp); sand belt polishing and orbital polishing. Some of our parts require up to 10 different polishing grits in order to get the exact surface smoothness required. The process needs to include different equipment on certain programs in order to polish those hard-to-reach areas.

Worker-health is important to us and to that end we have just installed two new exhaust systems as well as air conditioning vents at each of our polish work-stations!

We also polish stamped and die casted parts to a decorative mirror finish for all of our North American customers.

Powder Coating

Powder coating is a process whereby dry “paint” powder is applied electrostatically and then cured under heat to allow it to flow into an even and uniform “skin.”

We mainly powder coat for our automotive customers. We have access to quality and accredited powder coat shops both in the USA and China. We use both locally sourced paint and international brand (Akzo Nobel / DuPont etc.) polymers depending on the customer’s own performance and cost requirement.

We also use an E-Coating facility that has been approved by Shanghai GM, Volvo, Iveco and BMW. Their production management is superb and is TS:16949 accredited.
